Car Emergency Kit Components
- First Aid Kit. Beyond bandaids and gauze pads, be sure to include things like scissors, medication, antibiotic ointment and child versions of these items if you have children.
- Car Emergency Kit. Think: jumper cables, flares, ice scraper and blanket. Including cat litter or sand in your kit will help you with better tire traction if you should need it!
- Child Supplies. If you have young children, be sure to include diapers, wipes and other supplies that would be necessary if you were stranded for a long period of time.
- Flashlight and Batteries.
- Non-perishable Snacks. Include enough to sustain you and your passengers for at least three days.
- Water. One gallon of water per day for at least three days for drinking and sanitation is advised.
If you encounter car trouble, solid insurance coverage can really help mitigate the issues.
