Things to do in Southeast PA, September 2024

Hello everyone! My name is Mercedes and I am an Agency Assistant at Blue Marsh. Each month, I share all of the fun things that Southeast PA has to offer!

Happy fall, y’all! September is here, and it’s packed with some seriously fun local events. As summer winds down, I’m squeezing in as many adventures as possible. Here’s a peek into my September plans—and maybe it’ll inspire you to check out some of these awesome spots, too!

September Fun: Beach Days, Spicy Festivals, and Rock Concerts!

Labor Day Weekend in Ocean City, NJ First up, I’m heading to Ocean City, NJ for Labor Day weekend to visit my Grammy! It’s my last beach trip of the season, so I’ll be soaking in every moment. Of course, I’ll be fueling up at Ocean City Coffee Co. daily (I’m obsessed with their coffee!), and I’ll make sure to stop by Cape May Brewing Company for a cold one. Nothing beats sipping a craft beer and relaxing with a good book on the beach!

Chile Pepper Festival – September 6th On September 6th, I’m spicing things up at the Chile Pepper Festival in Mertztown! If you love spicy food like me, you can’t miss this one. There’s something for every heat-seeker—from spicy pickles to pepper-infused wine to a variety of hot sauces. I’ve been before, and it’s always a blast (plus, it’s a great way to stock up on unique spicy goodies for the year).c

Lancaster Ale Trail Exploration This month, I’m continuing my journey along the Lancaster Ale Trail. There are so many breweries left on my list to visit before the year ends! On the top of my must-try list are Spring House Brewing, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, and Hell in a Bucket Brewing Co. Each one promises something unique, and I can’t wait to try their brews.

September 21st: Double the Fun September 21st is shaping up to be a day full of fun! First, I’ll be heading to the MMRBQ at The Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ. This all-day rock festival, hosted by Philly’s WMMR, features incredible bands like The Offspring, Halestorm, Nothing More, POD, and more. This will be my second time going, and I’m beyond excited to jam out to some great music.

After the concert, I’ll be back in West Reading for Fall Fest on Penn Ave. This is one of my favorite local events—it’s full of delicious food, unique drinks, and tons of shopping opportunities. I love exploring the vendors, grabbing some local bites, and enjoying the lively fall atmosphere.

That’s it for my September adventures, folks! I’ll catch you next month with more fun plans.
